Emotron VSS AC Drives is a multipurpose ac drive which is packed with features to meet application requirements. VSS is cost effective, easy to install, easy to use drive for the single phase supply system in challenging industrial environment.
VSS series meets user’s needs and runs variety of applications like packaging, wood working, pumps, blowers, mixers and other machineries. It is ideal for machineries running on single phase supply, for better control and higher reliability.
VSS drives are having host of features to meeting the demand for variety of applications. The sensorless vector control algorithm enables it to achieve speed control accuracy of upto 0.2% and starting torque of 180% at 0.25Hz. Rated as standard for heavy duty makes it ideal for demanding application needs.

Energy savings and optimised operationEmotron FDU 2.0 AC Drive regulates flow and pressure by continuously adapting motor speed. Therer is no wasted energy and no unnecessary wear on equipment. A sleep function further reduces energy consumption by pausing the motor when it is not. An automatic pump rinsing function also increases efficiency. Multiple pump or compressor control is a reliable and cost-efficient method of keeping a constant flow or pressure despite varying demands. Emotron FDU controls up to seven drives.
User-friendly and reliable operationOperation parameters can be set in your own process units – m3/min, bar, Pascal, Celsius etc. – making monitoring easier and more reliable. The removable control panel has a copy function for transferring settings to other Emotron FDU units. You can switch between local and remote control with the push of a button on the control panel. The built- in programmable logical functions, comparators and timers means that, in many cases, external PLC or relays can be avoided.

VSS drives have a host of features to meet the demand of a variety of applications. The sensorless vector control algorithm enables it to achieve speed control accuracy of up to 0.2%, and a starting torque of 180% at 0.25Hz. The Emotron VSS series is rated as standard for heavy duty, making it optimal for demanding applications.
Features of VSS include programmable acceleration and deceleration curves, PID control, 16 programmable speeds, torque boost, DC brake, jog frequency, speed search, over excitation brake, torque control, separated V/f control and many more.
This drive also has a range of readymade application macros which simplify commissioning work and reduce the need for external controllers. In addition to logic functions such as timers and comparators, Emotron VSS has multi-speed control, wobbulation control and length count functions.
VSS is available in power ratings of 0.4kW to 2.2kW for single phase, 220V in IP20 design.

Available in IP20/21 and IP54 versionsEmotron VFX 2.0 AC Drive is available in IP20/21and IP54 versions. The robust metal construction in IP54 version allows you to install your AC drive close to the application, which saves the cost of cabinets and long motor cables. The 300-3,000 A units (IP20 modules) are also available in compact CG-designed IP54 or IP23 cabinets. IP20/21 series 2.5-365 A are optimised for mounting in control cabinets (IP20) or on electrical room walls (IP21, 25-365A). Emotron VFX has a robust and compact design, with easy access to power terminals and an extended temperature range up to 55 °C.
Simplified maintenanceShould a process problem occur, a full status report will be generated. You can quickly identify the cause and take corrective measures. Maintenance is simplified thanks to a minimum of easy accessible mechanical parts and fold-out power modules.
A number of options let you customise the functionality of the Emotron VFX and fully utilise the product according to your needs. Up to four different options can be combined.
Crane controlA crane I/O expansion board offers efficient hoist and travel drive, and a safety system which activates the mechanical brakes should dangerous loads be detected. It also provides a load-dependant, field weakening function for hoist drives.
Shorter braking timeFor short braking time or continuous braking, chopper is available as a factory-installed option. It is used in combination with brake resistors and is dimensioned according to the specific application demand.
CommunicationCommunication options include fieldbus communication via Profibus and DeviceNet, CANopen, Industrial Ethernet communication via Modbus/TCP, EtherCAT and Profinet, and serial communication via RS232 or RS485 using Modbus RTU protocol.
Motor protection
PTC and PT100 sensors can be connected to a monitor and protect motor temperature and give process feedback without using a transmitter.
